Re: Strategy for starting to circulate the proposal for policy legislation

So far, suggestions received regarding moving the proposal forward can be encapsulated into two general strategies -- both of which are just intended as preliminary steps designed to lay a foundation for specific follow-through with a select group of legislators and state agency administrators:

(1) Each coalition participant is asked to identify the Chair of one or more state legislature education committees (or any other legislators and policy makers) who might be really interested in such matters. Then, you should either directly send the policy proposal with an accompanying letter or send us (at the Center) the contact information and we will send it out.

(2) Many of you have indicated others with whom you are already sharing the policy proposal. It has been suggested that some of you would like to provide us with names and have us send it out. We will be glad to do so, just provide us with the contact information.

(3) After this initial targeted dissemination, we will start the process designed to enter into direct discussion with a select group of legislators and state agency folks..
